Now through October 7, 2017

I am participating in the 5th Exhibition of Korean Cultural Society of Boston in celebration of Poet, Dong-Ju Yun's Centennial Anniversary. We had a reception last Saturday at Lexington Arts & Crafts Society.

Korean Cultural Society of Boston (KCSB) holds its annual exhibition from Sept. 23 to Oct. 7 at the Lexington Arts and Craft Society, Parson Gallery.

Lexington Arts & Crafts Society130 Waltham St., Lexington, MA 02421

Gallery Hours: Tuesday - Friday & Sunday: 12pm - 4pm Saturday: 10am - 4pm • Closed Monday

The theme of the exhibition is to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Dong-Ju Yun’s birth. Yun was a poet and died early at the age of 27 in Japanese prison. His poems express not only agony under Japanese occupation and yearning for independence but also sensitive and humble human nature. Many artists exhibit works inspired by three of his poems: Prologue, The Night Counting Stars, and New Road.

Prologue by Yun Dong-ju

Until the day I die

I long to have no speck of shame

when I gaze up toward heaven,

so I have tormented myself,

even when the wind stirs the leaves.

With a heart that sings the stars,

I will love all dying things.

And I will walk the way

that has been given to me.

Tonight, again, the wind brushes the stars.
